Distance......in navigation!!!

Assalamualaikum w.b.t.

Juz wanna share some info....

in marine calculation...they are using Nautical Miles to express the distance from one point to the other points..

Nautical miles also equal to one minute of arc of latitude....

when changes to other unit of distance...u need to multiply 1 n.m to:

              -6076.10 for feet

              -2027 for yards 

              -1.852 for kilometers

                and

              -1.151 for miles....

Earth are divided into 2 parts…which is Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere

(refer to the picture given)....

Each of the hemispheres contains 90 degrees of latitude, measuring from equator up to the pole…

And every 1 degree consist of 60 minutes of arc of latitude….please take note?! if u are a traveler …how many kilometer would u travel?!ehe…let’s just assume that, there’s no land on the earth..how many kilometers would u travel from the equator to the pole either North/South is ur choices…

let me help myself: 90 degrees multiply by 60 minutes, then multiply again 1.852(to convert to kilometers isn't)...the answer "who knows" ahha...
